Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana has completed the preparations for the upcoming Kisan Melas in March 2025 for the rabi crops.
In this regard, Additional Director of Communications, Dr. Tejinder Singh Riar, informed that the first Kisan Mela will be held on 7th March at Ballowal Sonkhdi. After this, Kisan Melas will be organized on 10th March at Nagkalan, Amritsar, on 11th March at Faridkot, and on 13th March at Gurdaspur. The events will also take place on 18th March at Bathinda and Roni (Patiala), and on 25th March. The two-day Kisan Mela at PAU, Ludhiana, will be held on 21st and 22nd March.
Dr. Riar further explained that the objective of the Kisan Melas is to “Adopt new farming techniques, reduce costs, and increase productivity.” He mentioned that it is necessary to motivate farmers for sustainable agriculture and that the Kisan Melas for rabi crops will encourage agricultural stability.
He emphasized that farmers are the driving force of PAU and that the university continuously strives to meet the evolving and growing needs of the farming community.
